I have been
in practice as a psychotherapist since
1970 when I started working in a large
group practice in Los Angeles while
still in graduate school. After earning
my Ph.D. in 1982 in clinical psychology,
I moved to Minnesota and began working
at St. Paul Ramsey Hospital where I
developed and became program head of the
Psychological Consultation Service in
the Department of Medicine. In 1986 I
went into private practice specializing
in Mind-Body healing.
In April 2007, I completed a four year
program at the Northwestern Academy of
Homeopathy in classical homeopathy. I
have combined my psychotherapy and
homeopathy practices in order to provide
a more comprehensive approach to
healing.
I have specialized in the treatment of
depression, anxiety, posttraumatic
stress disorder and the psychological
stress of chronic illness. I also have
extensive training in the use of EMDR to
treat all forms of trauma, both acute
and chronic.
My approach to healing is both
developmental and holistic. I have done
post-doctoral work in family systems
interventions, I wrote my doctoral
thesis on cognitive and language
development in early childhood and I
have had on-going training in energy
therapy including Qi Gong, stress
reduction and relaxation techniques.
My office is in the Lang-Nelson Building
in downtown St. Louis Park. It is
across from the lovely “Excelsior on
Grand” area and adjacent to Highway
100. Please see the map below. I am in
a suite of offices where I practice with
four other psychotherapists, three of
whom are also nurses.
Our
practice primarily serves adults and
adolescents (although as a homeopath I
treat all ages). We provide treatment
for many issues including relationship
problems, eating disorders, trauma,
anxiety and depression.
